Trust to cultural code: situation of metamodern
Abstract
The second half of the twentieth century is often labeled as the era of postmodernity — total distrust of narratives, irony and doubt. In the context of this era, the idea of the end of history emerged, expressing the impossibility of further development of culture as a whole. Meanwhile, already at the end of the twentieth century, a large number of theories emerged indicating that history has not stopped, and culture continues to develop. One of the signs of such development is the restoration of trust in cultural texts. This trust is obviously due to changes occurring within culture itself. In this paper we suggest that one of the reasons for this transformation is the emergence of interactive texts, hypertext. The emergence of hypertext and the formation of its aesthetics are traced. We demonstrate the influence of hypertext on the formation of the phenomenon of metamodernity.
