Culturological Approach as a Methodological Basis for Studying Translator`s Professional Activity

Abstract


The culturological approach is a scientific methodology, which is studying an object through the prism of culture, which in turn can be represented throughout structural and systemic characteristics, and from the perspective of historical development. It can be used to consider translator`s professional culture. In this case, specialized education and subsequent employment is integrating a person into a new system of values and technologies, which influence their realization in the professional field. Studying the translator` profession from this perspective is relevant due to its involvement in intercultural communication and frequent change of the cultural context.
