RECTUALIZATION OF THE SYMBOL: SEARCH FOR METHODOLOGY

Abstract

The article is devoted to the identification of adequate strategies for the study of the symbolic and the concretization of the role of the symbol in critical periods of history. Starting from the dual nature of the symbol, the author argues that one cultural-semiotic approach is not enough to analyze this phenomenon, since such an examination loses the essential characteristic of the symbol – its energy potential. On the other hand, the involved axiological tools make it possible to "grasp" the immanent "soul" of a symbol, its ability to reactualize in various contexts. The article also presents the typology of symbolic neoplasms and their role in the modern ideological confrontation.
