The Symbolic Communication as a Process of Constitution of Cultural Meanings
Abstract
The article deals with the problems of constructing cultural meanings in the course of symbolic communication of individuals in the context of the crisis of rationality, which is the main characteristic of the spiritual climate of the modern era. According to the author, the formation of the post-classical type of rationality makes the task of researching the processes of cultural communication and their meaning-generating function especially urgent. As shown in the paper, cultural values form the foundation of the meaning structure of reality, and culture as a set of means and processes of sign communication has as its most important goal the constitution of the meaning (first of all, value) dimension of human existence.
