Abstract

The article raises the question of how to understand the phenom- enon of aesthetic experience not from its internal characteristics, but from its comparison with other types of experience. A model of the relationship between aesthetic, religious and cognitive experiences is proposed, their defining and accompanying characteristics are traced. The article uses both metaphorical and conceptual approach to the phenomenon of aesthetic experience, emphasizing such features as uncertifiability, constancy, horizontality. The article also concludes that it is possible to apply these variations of ideas about experience to different types of objects, and also emphasizes the need for further study of aesthetic experience in the light of the history, theory and practice of aesthetics.
