The structure historical consciousness and its levels

Abstract


The article is devoted to the analysis of the structure of historical consciousness, which represents the unity of three main elements: memory, reflection and nostalgia. Historical consciousness is formed on the basis of memory material, which has a selective and changeable character. The role of factors that force us to perceive and understand the past from different angles is played by such components of historical consciousness as reflection and nostalgia, the intentionality of which is determined by the values of modern life, culture and politics. At the same time, the author suggests distinguishing between two levels of historical consciousness – scientific or professional and ordinary.
