A new vision and creative embodiment in carpets

Abstract

The creative work of Azerbaijani carpet artist Faig Akhmed amazes with its inexhaustible energy and creative imagination. In his compositions, he uses carpets from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, India, and the Caucasus, which he then alters, giving them a wide variety of forms: geometric shapes, or spilled paint. His works have been exhibited worldwide and are part of numerous museum collections and serve as interior decorations for private clients. Faig Ahmed has preserved the traditions of the Azerbaijani people, incorporating both national ornaments and patterns from other cultures, while also incorporating new ideas into his carpets. His works have become a bridge between generations, demonstrating how ancient crafts can be adapted to modern realities.
