On the music of the Turkic-speaking peoples of the Caucasus

Abstract

The creative practice of the Turkic-speaking peoples of the Caucasus indicates the presence of many common features. Given the specifically related artistic foundations of this culture, we can state the typological quality of these similarities. Therefore, to identify the specific and common, kindred Azerbaijani music with the music of the Turkic-speaking peoples of the Caucasus is an urgent task of Azerbaijani musicology. The emotional warehouse of the Turkic-speaking peoples of the Caucasus, the Turkic spirituality, the basics of the mentality of the Turkic-speaking peoples - all this was reflected in the art of these peoples. We consider the intonational-typological peoples such as Kumyks, Balkars, Karachays, since it is precisely these peoples in the North Caucasus, like Transcaucasian Azerbaijanis who are autochthonous.
