RUSSIAN LITERATURE IN JAPANESE TRANSLATION

Abstract


Interest of Japanese to the Russian culture begins with acquaintance to Turgenev’s works. Japanese specialists in Russian philology such as K.Naodzumi, H.Tatsunosk, T. Fudzinuma created translations of the Russian classics (Gogol, Tolstoy, Belinsky, Dostoyevsky and others).
Japanese professor Yo. Nakamura investigates Russian national fairy tales and art of Afanasyev, the specialist in folklore. So this is exactly an interest reference point of Japanese
to the Russian literature.
