ASPECTS OF THE PROBLEM OF SCHILLER IN THE WORKS OF F. M. DOSTOEVSKY («POOR PEOPLE», «HUMILIATED AND INSULTED»)

Е. И. Лысенкова

Abstract

The article discusses the main aspects of Schiller in Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novels «Poor People» and «The Insulted and Injured». Although direct reflections of Schiller in the first novel are single, this article demonstrates that the problem of «Russian» Schiller is stated here. Moreover, there is a paradox enclosed in this issue — the interest of the novelist to the German writer — debate with him, representation of contrasting components of «Shiller’s idea». This paradox is fully available in the novel «The insulted and Injured» where a number of facts goes back to Dostoevsky’s biography as the author of «Poor people» and later — in «great novels»
