NATIONAL POLICY IN THE SOCIALIST COUNTRIES OF EUROPE (1917–1991)
Abstract
The article examines the impact of Marxist-Leninist philosophy in the development of ethno-cultural relations in the USSR and Eastern Europe. The concrete national policies, ideological constructs, declared the ruling elite, mythological settings determine the behavior of the inhabitants. Showing considerable divergence between the basic setting on the «friendship of peoples» and practiced by repressive measures against ethnic minorities.
