The agricultural activity of the indigenous population of the Gorno-Altai Republic (the late 1990s – the early 2010s)

Abstract

In the early 1990s there were carried out a number of economic reforms in the Gorno-Altai Republic, such as reorganizing kolkhozes and sovkhozes, turning collective farms into joint-stock companies. This resulted in the rapid growth of private farming. The author examines the latest field materials and recently published scientific works in order to analyze the seasonal agricultural activity of small holdings and private farms of Altai people.
