The ethnosophy and archeosophy of Altai
Abstract
The author examines some attempts to create the “Altaian philosophy”. He concludes that this type of national philosophy should be described as archeosophy or ethnosophy. The modern “Altaian philosophy” is a kind of mythological consciousness which is known to involve the notorious aspiration for reviving the “original”, “ancient” knowledge. The main contents of the Altaian archeosophy includes such ideas as the spirituality of nature, the cosmic origin of life, and the idea of reincarnation.
