PERSONALITY IN WEST AND EAST

Б. И. Загуменнов

Abstract

Personality is wholeness, its elements: cognition, emotions and activity; self-consciousness (including «I-conception» and «freedom of the will»), language, abstract thinking and spiritual life. Personality is undefinable, for its highest level is super-consciousness, which transcends «the limits of words and thoughts» (Skt. avanmana-sagocaram).

Keywords

west-east; self-consciousness; super-consciousness; avanmanasagocaram
