«WHAT WAS A PHOTOGRAPHY» IN THE «MULTILAYERED» VIDEO

Abstract


The article discusses the hybrid or composite image obtained by combining several types of media. Pausing briefly on several relevant approaches and terminology they use  –  postproduction of N. Bourriaud, «second visuality» of Jodi Dean and reactualization of Ariella Azoulay  –  the author draws attention to the problem of the overweight of the past media content over the (possible) new expressive possibilities. Repeatability and in a certain sense the secondariness of such media products that flood postphotography with traces, is opposed to experimental reworking of photography in video, when algorithmic processing leads to the emergence of visually and technically different products in which the original material is «scattered», and the final results, being fundamentally plural, are inverted and purified of anthropological expectations. In contrast to post-production, re-actualization and the movement «between» different media, video artists propose a peculiar variant of AR (augmented reality), but not quite seen from a human perspective.
