EXTERNALISTIC JUSTIFICATIONS OF MATHEMATICS: FROM SPHENGLER TO EDINBURG SOCIAL SCHOOL

Abstract


The article defines the place and role of mathematics in the Modern European tradition, as well as its criticism. The position of O. Spengler who criticizes the universalization of mathematical knowledge is considered. Traced as the ideas of O. Spengler are reflected in the writings of S. Kripke and in the writings of the Edinburgh Sociological School.
